My name is Ryan Wilson, I'm a photographer currently based out of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. I will be graduating from the Photography & Digital Imaging program at Holland College in May of 2012, and will be expanding my studies into Interactive Multimedia for 2013 and eventually, film studies. My current passion is low key intimate portraiture, however I would love to light films one day.

The lighting kit I'm using now consists of 3x Lumopro LP160's with 2 sets of cactus triggers and various modifiers/stands. I find that small flash is, for me, the best option. The lights are powerful, cheap and small, and so in the small space I have in my apartment, they are a perfect fit for my style of work. I credit much of this way of thinking to David Hobby at the Strobist blog. He does amazing professional work with small flash.

A few of my other influences would include Yousuf Karsh, Nigel Parry & Jeff Wall. The purpose of this blog will be to show my work, keep people updated, and to get my thoughts and ideas out of my head and into something more tangible.
